Etiquette in South Korea

  When I was in Korea,I came across a lot of tourist.Sorry to say but Chinese tourists are the worst.They are loud and can be very rude.A lot of Chinese kids I met yell and shout and their parents can't control them.I also saw a Chinese lady refused to give her seat to an elderly in the subway.

 So,Malaysian tourist,I hope you read this post before going there and take note.

1) Always stand on the right side of the escalator.Koreans walk fast and rush to wherever they need to go.Malaysian?Lol,not so much.So I suggest that you stand on the right side of the escalator.The people travelling with you can stand in front of you or behind you.

 2)Lifts/elevators are for the weak.There are lifts/elevators provided in most of the subway station.Koreans don't really use them except if they are elderly or they are moms with strollers.Tourists with big bag use them too.

 3)Seats for elderly/pregnant woman in Subway.There are seats provided for elderly and pregnant woman in the subway.Please,do not use them unless you are sure there are no elderly/pregnant woman in the subway.Or people will stare(and curse you in korean.).

 4)Give up your seats for elderly.This is taught in Malaysia but it is very emphasized in Korea.I have to admit,the second day I was in Korea,I didn't stand up for an older woman and I kinda felt people stares.Luckily,my cousin did stood up for her.Sorry ajumma :( But I made sure I didn't make the same mistake.

 5)Be quiet in the subway.So basically,everyone in the subway will do their own thing.The most common thing is to fiddle with their own smartphones.Sleeping is allowed.Eating is also allowed.Making noise?Not really.Again,Chinese tourists are the one that have problems with this.I guess it's a culture thing,but they talk loudly and even I felt very uncomfortable when I hear noises in the subway.However,don't expect the elderly to keep quiet in the subway.Nobody can scold them so I guess you just gotta bear with it.

T-Money Card

 I'm back from Korea for a few already and decided to make a post about all the tips you need to know when you are travelling.To be honest,I'm no expert either but rasanya tak salah berkongsi pengalaman hehe.

1)T-money card

  Just go to the convenience store(7-eleven or GS Mart) di airport and kata nak beli T-money card.Card ni harganya 3000 won.Jangan tertipu ya,lepas beli card ni kata nak 'charge'(masukkan duit).Boleh masukkan any amount yang dihendaki dan lepas tu,baru boleh guna T-Money card ni.

 The advantage of T-Money card ni is that you don't have to buy ticket everytime you want to ride the subway.It kinda acts like Touch&Go Card.Masa naik bas pun boleh guna this card.Of course,if you are leaving for Malaysia and ada lagi baki dalam kad ni,ada machine di airport yang boleh pulangkan baki.

Preparation;South Korea(flight plus accommodation)

Ini ialah antara sebab utama blog ini dibuat.Jadi,entry ini mestilah dibuat kan?

 Rancangan untuk ke Korea Selatan ini dibuat sejak tahun lepas. Since then I did some research and blog hopping. Tetapi,kecewa. Tak semua blog membantu. Bersyukur jugak masih ada blog-blog yang sangat membantu. Masalah utama blog-blog ialah bahasa yang digunakan sukar difahami. Titew,yeww,sayew antara yang sering digunakan. Maklumlah,pemilik blog ini merupakan pelajar baru habis SPM jadi pelajaran Bahasa Malaysia masih lagi diingati (Jangan risau,blog ini tak akan menggunakan bahasa baku tetapi pemilik blog akan sentiasa cuba menggunakan bahasa pasar yang paling mudah difahami). 

  Anyway,back to the main point. Flight merupakan perkara pertama yang kami book. Kelakar juga sebab masa nak book baru perasan passport Abah dah nak expired jadi renew dulu passport Abah. Kami sekeluarga memilih Malaysia Airlines(MAS). Mula-mulanya,cadangannya kami memilih Air Asia yang lebih murah tetapi selepas berbincang dengan Mama dan Abah,mereka memilih MAS. Antara faktor memilih MAS ialah Mama yang serik naik Air Asia. Dulu,semasa Mama dan Abah sering melancong(before I was born),flight Air Asia yang dinaiki pernah delay a few hours.Rasanya masa itu mereka bawa arwah wan(panggilan nenek) jadi Mama memang serik dengan Air Asia. Aku dan adik memang tidak pernah naik Air Asia sebab yelah,kami bercuti semua masih ikut parents lagi. A year ago,rakan baik Mama yang naik Air Asia pun complain sebab katanya ada hidden cost jadi rasanya Mama memang tidak akan menaiki flight Air Asia lagi. Plus suasana LCCT yang kurang selesa untuk mak cik-mak cik dan pak cik-pak cik. Abah pun setuju dengan keputusan Mama.Fortunately,masa kami book flight,MAS ada promotion.

  Secondly,accommodation. Kami decide untuk tinggal di Boa guesthouse (http://www.boaguesthouse.com/main/main.php?lang=eng). The best thing about this guest house is it’s Muslim friendly. Ada peralatan yang hanya boleh digunakan oleh Muslim sahaja jadi tak perlu samak periuk,pinggan dll. Mama merancang nak memasak di Korea jadi senanglah kami di sana(plus save cost!).Location guesthouse ini di kawasan Hongik University(Hongdae) yang banyak tourist attraction plus dekat dengan subway and bus station jadi senang untuk kami.

Percutian kami di Korea Selatan merupakan family vacation jadi semua budget traveler atau backpack traveler won’t find this blog useful(I think).Tapi,apa salahnya berkongsi pengalaman kan?

P/S:I suggest semua yang merancang untuk melancong(ke mana-mana sahaja) periksa room rates di Agoda.com . Harga di sana biasanya lebih murah daripada website hotel.

 In shaa Allah,pemilik blog akan menulis tentang pengalaman di Korea juga.

Why I made a blog?

1) I want somewhere to keep all my thoughts.The world keep on changing,I keep on changing.Seriously,my opinion changes so fast,I can't even.So why not store my thoughts today for future reference?

2)Expressing myself.Argh this is the hard part.I find it very,very hard to express myself like what word to use,what language should it be in so this blog is made to help this mess in my head.

3)Inspire someone.I know this one is hard but hey,the Internet is a huge place.Maybe someone will land on my blog and somehow,was inspired by whatever I wrote haha.

4)Sharing is caring.I must admit,I am not someone who goes blog-hopping but my family were planning for a vacation and I started reading other people experiences.And umm,it sucks.Aq xsukala org tulis mcm ni yeww titew xsuka.Alahai tak perlulah merosakkan bahasa sendiri.

5)This blog is inspired by proudduck.com, it's a blog by a Malaysian fashionista and eventhough this blog is inspired by her,I'm not going to post anything about #ootd or fashion tips.
